Why do my voice memos (changed to MP3) only show up in my ipod playlist when Ipod is connected to an authorized computer. When I disconnect the IPod the playlist folder is there with not content.

Excited I finally figured out a solution to getting converted voice memos to show up in a playlist. After you have sync'd the voice memos in iTunes by changing the conversion properties from ACC to MP3. You still have to convert each memo to a MP3. Resync the two devices and if the memos don't show up in the playlist use the playlist edit button and add each memo from your songs list. Very useful tool for using your IPod and IPhone to record class notes, meetings etc.
