Q: My email with yahoo was working great until 3 weeks ago from my iPad. Had to change pass word etc because of yahoo mail issues. Now I can't  check my mail - get a "server unavailable. I deleted account - added yahoo again no luck - help

My yahoo mail account was working great on iPad2 until 3 weeks ago when yahoo had problems with email accounts. I reset password etc. I couldn't get emails.

I deleted account - added it back. I shut down iPad. I get a  "server not available" message now when I try to add it to account.  If I get on the internet (still on iPad) and go to myyahoo I can see I have messages. When clicking on email to open - they won't open.

At home on laptop I don't have any issues checking yahoo emails.

Help!!

iPad 2, iOS 7.0.4, I updated the newest updated - 2013

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

hey so i had this same problem for nearly 5 months! i know, LONG time, right? well it was even more frustrating being in high school part time, taking colleges courses, and having a job that EMAILS me my work schedule. i was constantly checking my email at the last minute and it was beyond frustrating! thinking i was the problem, i had changed my password multiple times, but when i was sure it wasn't that, i got a little bit frustrated. i contacted apple support and was connected to THREE different representatives, and none of them could help with my problem! Just nearly 20 minutes ago, i found the solution and i have never been happier! although you have a yahoo account, i'm hoping that his still works for you! what i had to do was go into my settings on my laptop for my Microsoft (email) account. I then set up whats called an "app password". I had to download an app called "Google Authenticator" and scan the bar code on my laptop screen to receive a password to verify my account on the app. once that it was verified, i was redirected to the settings menu on my laptop. I clicked "learn more about app passwords", and i was given an app password. Now, if that all sounds confusing, i apologize, but ill explain what all of this means. The reason i had to get an app password was because i had security setting problems with my email account, and after so many times of changing my password, it couldn't be accepted on my phone or iPad. This is because phones and tablets don't accept accounts with security issues, because they do not have a security code option to allow you to log in in, while also allowing them to make sure it is you accessing the account. SO, to sum all of that up, you must get an app password from your email account, and use that to log in to any devices with a mail app that you wish to use and access your email. i really hope this helps you, and again this could be wrong because i'm not sure how yahoo works in comparison to outlook.
