I'm unable to find "iMessage" and "Game Center" on my MacBook Air. Already searched through everything on it, but was unable to find both, even with the "search" function (got my MacBook on the newest software).

You should tell us exactly what MacBook and what software that is.
If your MacBook Air is, say, an original version, it cannot run "the newest software" (Mavericks) and therefore would not have Game Center.
Yes, i got an original version, guess its "Mac OS X (10.7.5)"

OS X 10.7.5 (Lion) is now two years old. Lion did not include Game Center. There is no way to incorporate Game Center into Lion.
The same is true of iMessage. I believe Lion had iChat, which can chat with AOL and similar, but not Apple devices.
Current OS X is 10.9.1 (Mavericks).

Because if i let me MacBook search for upgrades, i get told that i got the newest software, and so i looked for OS X Mavericks on the apple website and im getting it atm.

There is a big difference between an update and an upgrade. Actually, your MacBook searched for updates, not upgrades as you say above.
The difference is this:
Updates are free of charge. Upgrades cost money.
When advancing from Lion to Mountain Lion (OS X 10.7 to OS X 10.8), a fee is involved. Therefore, this would be an upgrade. When you search for updates in Lion, there are none. But there are upgrades available.
Mavericks (OS X 10.9) is somewhat different, becuase it is also an upgrade (from Lion or Mountain Lion). However, Apple is offering the upgrade to Mavericks without charge.
So if your machine is eligible (see below), you might consider moving up.
