Entering Record Label Info Imported Cd

Hi All,

I am curious, my iTunes puchased songs/albums display record label/publisher information in Itunes on the Get Info -> Summary tab, and release date & record label/publisher information on my Iphone when I select the album (just under Artist and Album name) However, when I import a CD into iTunes this information is not populated... And I see no option to manually add this information. Is it possible? I would like to make all of my albums and songs consistent, call me OCD.

JTU,

That field that you see on the Summary tab of tracks purchased from the iTunes Store is not user editable.

If you want to add label info to other tracks, you will have to re-purpose another field, such as Comments or Grouping.

It isn't possible with iTunes, there are several fields that aren't editable either via Get Info, or via the scripting engine. You may be able to find a third party tag editor that can do the job. Mp3tag might be the one to explore first.
