I want to connect a wired camera to my iPhone or iPad?

I want to connect a wired camera to my iPhone or iPad but when I plug one in, such as a USB webcam, it says that it uses too much power to operate.

Does anyone know of a low power webcam that does work or any other way of connecting a remote camera?
