VPN Unlimited question

I recently removed VPN unlimited after realizing that it's a trial/pay to use product.

Entering System Preferences ~> Network it seems as though that VPN unlimited has an undeletable VPN configuration.

I remember having to download their "Configuration," which seemed odd at the time, but i'm new to apple apps so I didn't know if that was a standard procedure.

Quite frankly, I don't trust their reviews and I'm concerned about the safety of my Mac.

1) How do I remove the VPN Unlimited setting within my network settings?

- The minus button used to normally delete VPNs is grayed out

- I've tried Terminal ~> Networksettings -removenetworkservice (Insert name here), including the usage of quotations.

2) How do I guarentee the configurations that I had to download, mentioned before, are completely removed from my system? It just seems so phishy..

Thanks guys

Hey A1010,

I think I figured this problem out. Try this:

System Preference > Profile > VPN Unlimited > Remove.

Here goes the link I found the answer at: http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/60375/deleting-vpn-configuration-files- from-network-system-preferences.

It was talking about removing another type of VPN service. I tried, delete the VPN Unlimted profile then when back to my Networks Settings and the VPN Unlimited Configuration was gone!

I hope this works for you!

I have use VPN Unlimted for more than a year.

Just out of the blue on January 23th, 2016 I don't have connection through my VPN Unlimted. I did contact VPN Unlimted support team.

The answer is:

Please, follow the instruction:

1. Quit from VPN Unlimited (you can do it using Activity Monitor):

2. Clean VPN Unlimited preferences in this way - open terminal application and print

next three commands in it (after each command you should press Enter key):

rm -Rf ~/Library/Preferences/com.simplexsolutionsinc.vpnguardMac.plist

rm -Rf ~/Library/Containers/com.simplexsolutionsinc.vpnguardMac

killall -u $USER cfprefsd

4. Download VPN Unlimitedhttps://www.vpnunlimitedapp.com/downloadmac

So far so good.

It works for two hours, then I got a flash pop-up:

'my identity is not accepted'.

I did contact the suport team again, their answer is:

===

Please, go to System Preferences -> Profile -> delete VPN Unlimited profile (click "-" button).

Reboot your device and check your connection after.

===

After reboot the whole VPN Unlimited is gone.

I try to install again, but it is not possible.

I can only Cancel the installation or remove it to the trash.

The result of clicking on the ?-mark is:

OS X El Capitan: The app’s authorization has been revoked

There may be a problem with this app. Although the app was signed by an identified developer, the certificate for the app has been revoked, and it cannot be opened.

Check with the Mac App Store or the software developer to see whether there is an updated version of this app.
