Ideal Premiere Pro export settings BEFORE compressor

I'm editing with Premiere Pro these days... I've currently been exporting 1080p h.264 mov files in order to put them into compressor ad have compressor do it's thing to make them internet ready.

Is there an "ideal" setting that I should be using BEFORE I send my videos to compressor?

I'm trying to figure out why compressor is adding ghost frames to the beginning of my videos (when they don't exist before conversion) and I'm wondering if it might have to do with the initial video setting that compressor is trying to work with.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Some would consider H.264 is already "internet ready".

What other changes are you making?

fwiw - even in PP I edit in ProRes and export a self-contained master file. Then I use that file in Compressor to do conversions to delivery formats.

That's interesting...

50% of my reason for switching to Premiere Pro was so that I could edit with raw footage and save myself a ton of drive space.

I'll try exporting the files in prores before putting them into compressor and see what happens.

Ugh... I don't even see an option to export in ProRes... I'm still stuck with this problem:

Editing a highly compressed format in PP is still an iffy proposition - I don't care what Adobe says.

I convert files to ProRes before bringing into an editor and export the master file in ProRes.
