iPod touch stop recording

I have been using my Ipod Touch 5 for voice recording during lectures. Lately I realized that it has been stopping by itself halfway through and I lost the rest of the lectures not recorded. What happened? is it my ipod touch problem or the software? how can I solve this problem?

iPod touch, iOS 7.0.4

If you go to Settings > General > Usage, how much free (available) space do you have?
