Can't access the icloud backup settings, and it's full!

I have a very frustrating problem. Every morning I get the warning that the icloud backup could not complete, because of lack of storage. I have the paid storage level of 15 Gb.

The thing is, I want to go in to the settings and exclude some stuff that I do not need backed up, so that it goes through the next time. But when I click settings on the dialog box, nothing happens! I then go manually into Settings on my iPhone and then icloud/backup/manage. But when I click "manage" it shows a loading animation but then it disappears and nothing happens! So I can't even access that view!

What's wrong here? And how do I fix this? Because now I can't even perform a backup at all.

I tried that. When I turn it back on and then tap the "manage", it loads for like 30 seconds and then pops a dialog that says "Not enough storage", which is weird, since that's the point of letting me manage it.. After I close the dialog I'm back where I were. And now when I tap "manage" it loads for a second and then nothing happens, just like before. 😟

You can always backup your phone via iTunes.

Try this:

Back up to your computer using iTunes:

Connect your phone to your computer, open iTunes, click on the name of your phone in iTunes, go to the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings and click Back Up Now. Then go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases to transfer your apps and other purchased media to your iTunes library.

Then restore.

First try restoring from your backup and if that does not work then try restoring as a new device.

I have had this problem as well with multiple iPhones. I'm really disappointed that Apple haven't solved this problem yet, it's been around for more than a year now.

Today I found a solution that worked for me and my girlfriends iPhone:

Settings > iCloud > Storage and Backup > turn iCloud Backup off then back on

Click "Back up now" and straight after click "Manage Storage".
And like magic you can now manage your iCloud storage. After a few seconds you get a pop-up warning that iCloud back up couldn't finnish, just click close and you can go ahead and edit your back-up settings
