Photos from PC backup hard drive to macbook, possible?

My PC desk top is limping along. My son has loned me his 2010 Macbook. Can I transfer my photos and data over to his Mac from my external hard drive backup?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

If your question is about the feasibility of making the transfer, the answer is yes it can be done. Niel's caveat is that the files many not be readable on a Mac.

One option for transferring files would be to use a service like Wetransfer: https://www.wetransfer.com. There are others. You would create a folder of the files you want to transfer, compress it and use the service to send the compressed file to your son's Macbook.

That still does not answer the question of whether the files are Mac readable. You could try emailing one of the files as an attachment, to your son's Macbook and see if you can open it there.
