Hi,

No problem.

I don't use Safari as my everyday browser.

You are talking about this:-

I believe I may have to do more set up on both my Mac and the iPhone as I open Safari on the iPhone and went to a web page and re-clicked the button in Safari but nothing happened.

Maybe someone who has used this feature will post.

Hi Susan,

That is what I presumed it did.

However I seem to have Safari ticked in iCloud and in the setting on the iPhone but when I tried yesterday I could not see the iPhone tab/web page.

Was there more setting up ?

Hi,

This is a pic on the settings on my iPhone 4s

I am guessing that this covers the Bookmarks and the like.

I can't see anything specific about the open tabs/pages. (even when I go to the Safari ones)

EDIT

Is it part of the things you can do with Back to my Mac?

I don't have Data ON on my iPhone as it is pay as you go.

Ralph, this is from Missing Manual for OS X Mountain Lion.

"You won't see these tabs unless the other gadget has iOS 6 or later and the Macs have Moutain Lion or later. And, of course, the Safari checkbox has to be turned on in System Preferences > iCloud on the Macs, or Settings > iCloud on the phone or tablet."

My Mac is running OS 10.8.5.The iPod Touch is iOS 6.1.3 and the Pad is iOS 6.1.3.

Hope that helps.

Hi Ralph,

I'm not using Back to My Mac. Again I don't know what the function does. 😊 Looks like I need to crack the binding on that MM or at least get a copy of Dummies. If I do another One to One session I'll ask.

I set the Mac and the iPod Touch up at home. Doubt I did anything fancy. The iPad was done at the Personal Setup in the Apple Store but it was from iCloud restore. So nothing high powered there either.

I'm a long time Mac user who does what I need and gets out. I've always appreciated that Mac lets me do my thing with minimal trauma.

Hi,

Same here.

I then wanted to know about iChat (2) and spent sometime solving the issue (it was router that was redirecting SIP data - not that common.)

By then I was posting fairly regularly and have not stopped in about 10 years.

Whilst there is not much I don't know about iChat and Messages I am a bit of a one horse wonder.

The additional post was a hope that it might trigger a memory.

I suspect that you have to be using the full abilities of the iPhone to allow this to happen.

Hi Ralph,

I don't have an iPhone😊. In adtion to the Mac I use an iPad mini and two iPod Touch 4g. Only iCloud tabs from one iPod Touch display as the other is running iOS 5.

I was just reviewing a webiste for the Neat desktop scanner for Mac. That's my new for today interest. I don't have a scanner and think it woud be handy to have one. My old Lex single function jet printer is valuable to me because it supports Mac OS 10.3.9 the OS on my beloved iBook.

Hi,

My son's iPhone/MacBook Pro works.

He showed me this:-

You can get to that by clicking the Double Squares that show where the "done" is in this Pic.

Having said that, the iMac no longer shows in the spot in the first pic.

Also I still can't get it to work in the other direction.

(My son has loads of tabs that do show up.)

I also tried because my wife was using our iPad and I wanted to see if that showed up. (it didn't).

Making sort of progress but no real success.

Hi Susan,

I am afraid not.

I have the same iCloud ID on both the Mac and the iPhone.

I have the Safari item enabled in iCloud on both.

The cloud button does not work on the Mac and has only once worked on the iPhone.

Currently I can see neither device's open tabs one the other.

EDIT !!!!

Found it.

In that first pic (above but today's date) is a Private button.

It needs disabling for the Mac to "see" the iPhone's tabs

THEN the use the Double Squares and flick up the tabs which will then reveal the linked Computer (or other Device I presume

Example on Mac.

The Privacy button is not mentioned in the Link and it was only chance that I pressed it to see what it did.
