When I plug my IPod Touch into my laptop, ITunes immediately becomes disabled. I then open up Task Manager and ITunes shows up as "Not Responding." Why is this?

When I plug my IPod Touch into the computer, ITunes becomes immediately disabled. When I open up Task Manager, ITunes shows up as "Not Responding." This happens everytime I plug the IPod in. This started right after I cleared all of the content off the IPod, then attempted to re-sync my music. Why is this happening?

iPod touch, Windows 7, Not Responding
