How long should I charge my new ipod touch 5th generation when I get it.

Also should u let the battery almost completly die before charging to ensure the longest battery lifespan?

Hello, a drained battery will take approximately 4 hours to fully charge. iPods use Li-ion batteries, good news no battery memory and fairly long battery life. Bad news when they die they die. You battery will go through approximately 400 charging cycles after that you start to see shorter use time and then will not charge. The Apple site info is good read it. Then goggle C-net about was to extend battery life, more useful info there. At least once a month you should allow your battery to go through a long or deep cycle charge. Hope this helps, Good luck.
