iPad 1 Not Registering in iTunes

Hello, I just found my old iPad 1 and I tryed to connect it to my computer. When I plug it in it charges and iphoto opens but it is no where under devices. The ipad is fully updated and itunes is 11.1.4 If you know what is wrong... sime help would be needed! Thanks
