can't find device button

I have the same problem too. I plug my phone in and it asks if I trust the compute I say yes and then nothing happens. The phone icon doesn't show up. It was working fine yesterday but I updated it, I even unistalled it and then installed it again. Restarted my laptop countless times, did everything. I need help!

I have this problem also. I have searched all over and can't find a whisper of info on how to fix it. Since this question was posted about ten months ago and there have been no answers provided it's pretty clear that this "support" site is useless.

I used to tell everyone how great Apple was. In the last year I've changed my mind as a result of shoddy, half baked software, rushed to market to meet marketing deadlines, and lousy support.

Steve Jobs would fire someone for this.

Can you let me know what the solution is? I have the same problem, no device button even though tried everything suggested, and also get the "allow" on the phone and then nothing happens!
