I need a spreadsheet, please.

Hello Smart People!

I am new to the Apple Tree, and was a former PC -er. I need to file my BAS statements but all my files are frozen in the PC world. I can see them on my MAC, I can open them, but I cannot type new information. Can I somehow unlock my old files to type onto them new information, or do I need to set up a new spreadsheet?
