The article below will explain how to troubleshoot your iCloud backups. It sounds like you have automatic backups turned on. It may help to backup manually instead.

These did not solve the problem, I ended up having to delete icloud account from my ipad and then turn icloud back on. when I plug in to charge now it does not ask for my icloud password anymore and my apps are staying turned off.
very simple solution. working so far but only plugged in quickly to check.

Feb 22, 2014 11:42 PM in response to Theovenmanby Theovenman,Sorry, Got a bit ahead of myself. This did not work either, I plugged in again and icloud login popped up again. all apps are turned back on and now I have to go and delete all the ones I do not need backed up on icloud.
Talked to an apple technician and they will look into solving the problem but did not know why this was happening.
I will keep you updated.
