Feb 18, 2014 2:48 PM in response to TheDudeAbides420by WZZZ,Not risky Dude, but if it's always on doing hourlies then it may get full and start auto deleting older ones you might want to keep, in order to make room. Another thing is that if the external(s) is/are always on, that's more wear and tear on them as they spin up and down frequently.

PeripheralsNever had the slightest problem with hourly updates. But you don't mention if this is your only back up. If that is the case you could consider buying an additional external HD on which to clone your system and then top it up every three months or so. One back up, especially Time Machine, is not the best cover to have.
