I cant see any difference the HDR feature makes in Camera ... HDR and non- HDR photos seem the same to me. Does it not work if you shoot in dim light ... do you have to be in a well-lit area for it to show any difference?
And are you supposed to hear a series of three camera clicks? I hear only one.

Only one camera click.
You should get two photos in Camera Roll. One normal and the other with HDR.
to my eyes, both the hdr and the normal photos seem the same. but only so far ive tried it in low light so i'm wondering if it has to be done in good, not subdued light.
You can also just save the HDR photo (tap to enlarge image)
Try and use a iPad stand or rest iPad on some stable object to get better results.
