Can't remove Quicktime icon in my task bar.

I personaly don't like quicktime and never intentionaly down loaded it but due to some form of script a web page tried to down load it to my computer. Matter of fact it's the same thing I get going to the Quicktime main page.

I don't want it and now I have this stupid icon in my task bar that I can't figure out how to get rid of.

There is no listing for add/remove programs, I can't seem to find a Quick time folder any where. I just want the stupid thing gone. Help please.

Right click on the QuickTime icon over buy you clock and
1) click> QuickTime preferences
2) click the Advanced tab
3)de-select the option at the bottom: Install QuickTime icon in system tray.

This will only remove that icon from your system tray it wont remove QuickTime from your system. To do this you must go through add-remove programs (it should be there toward the bottom of the list).

Hope that helps 🙂

Ok I got it fixed. The **** auto dl script put an ocx and another file in the start up folder.

If you know of anyone else having this issue they just need to search for ocx files and go from there.

If I had of wanted the program I would of already had it.
I think Apple needs to address this issue really quick. Making that thing come up on my system like that is really bad form.
