Ram almost full

I have a 5th generation ipod touch 32gb. The ram is about 75% full, it is running extremely slow, consitantly lagging, and always freezing/ crashing. The battery is also draining way slower than it should, any advice? This is ruining my experience...

Periodically double click the home button and close all the apps in the recently used dock. Then power off and then back on the iPod. This frees up memory. The 4G only has 256 MB of memory.

Next as necessary

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: How to back up

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

It's weird, somedays it works great and is faster than ever, other days the speed is nothing but problems. It does help if i reboot it or do a soft reset. That helps for some time as said above, then it will start to lag and freeze again, then all of the sudden if i do not use it for a little while, it is fine again. Is this a known error woth iOS 7?
