that is because it is using your apple i.d email which should look like this ************@apple.com
yo can fix that by going to your mail setting.

I am not sure what you mean when you say that it is using my apple i.d. email. It has my gmail account. When I use connection doctor it says my gmail account is fine.
I have no trouble with getting my Gmail data in Mail.
10.9.2 has some fixes for Gmail. You may have to wait for it.
