If your iPod requires service due to the battery’s diminished ability to hold an electrical charge and it is not covered by Apple's one year limited warranty, an AppleCare agreement, or statutory consumer rights, Apple will replace your iPod for a service fee. Note: Your iPod is not eligible for the Out-of-Warranty Battery Replacement Service if a hardware failure is affecting a component of the iPod other than the battery, or if there is damage on the iPod resulting from accident, liquid damage, disassembly, unauthorized service and unauthorized modifications.
