MPB 2012 OS10.8.5 - Airport utility (6.3.1) and Airport extreme have gotten out of sync and utility will not allow me to upgrade the firmware. Any suggestions?

I assume that my version of Utility and Extreme have gotten out of sync. Utility indicates there's a firmware update for extreme. When the extreme firmware wants to update the message is: "This version of Airport Utility requires this Airport Extreme use firmware version 7.3.1 or later"

With this warning, utility will not access the new firmware update.

Any Suggestions or ideas

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5), Airport Extreme

Thanks to help from Apple tech I've been able to solve my problem. The solution was to utilize the Bootcamp & Windows to download an older version of Airport Uility and update the Airport Express firmware via Windows. Once that was accomplished, Airport Utility on Mac OS responds appropriately - Utility and Express are back in version sync. An alternative would have been to utilize a different computer to update the firmware. My thanks to Apple.
