I have an iphone 5 mod a 1429 ios 7 camera on on the screen, facetime camera doesn't work. Freezes up as blury screen or black looks like 2 pixels are burnt out small faint glow in 2 spots in same area and have to dump (swipe up) b4 back cam works again. Reinstalled ios 7 again didn't help. I put the 2 dots here (photoshop) but this is what it looks like. I can't get the dots to show up good in snap shot.

Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Then reset: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)
If this doesn't work, back up and restore via iTunes. If the problem continues, restore as a new device and test. If the problem is solved, there is some kind of corruption in your backup file or maybe it's one of your apps causing problems. If it continues, take it to an Apple Store for evaluation of a possible hardware problem.
If I restore as new device factory settings can I still retore back to my backup copy if it doesn't work? I have a lot of valuble apps and info on here. BTW thank you for the response.
No, did not modify camera. Simulated photo of showen here, because the 2 dots are vary faint and do not show up in snapshot copy of screen. So perhaps it is 2 bunt out pixels? I have seen these show up other then screen camera. I never senn while using main camera. Main camera works good.
Yes, you can restore from your backup, even if you get a new device. If it were me, I'd be taking it in to an Apple Store.
