How do I copy/transfer Notes from iPhone "On This iPhone" folder to iCloud?
"If you have notes in these folders, you will need to copy or transfer them to iCloud or IMAP to sync with your other devices." Great! How?
iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.4

Bump. Indeed artdavis. How?
I wanted to Sync the Notes (100+) on my iPhone to iCloud. So I set up an iCloud account as instructed.
The problem is, only newly created notes get synced.
I am not going to individually copy and paste each note into 'iCloud notes' on the iPhone.
I thought I may may be able to sync to iTunes on my Mavericks Mac (and copy between accounts in the Notes.app) but you cannot even sync Notes to iTunes anymore.
Help please!
I have searched for a long time and have not found any way to do it.
And Apple is supposed to be user friendly. I am trying to do the same with no success. ICloud Drive even with all the settings correct according to two geniuses at the Apple Store, is not user friendly and has cost me days of lost productivity,
there re has got to be a better way. Any other ideas for hundreds of notes?
Can you not just turn on Notes in iCloud in settings to get your notes to iCloud? I don't use it, I sync mine to my Outlook when I sync the phone daily.
Thanks Chris for your suggestion. No, iCloud Drive is turned on. I wish I had never used the cloud. I read that old notes on the phone can't be uploaded but don't know if that is true. I deleted pages from the iPhone and reinstalled it. Nineteen of the hundred or so notes would not download to the phone, but I think I can copy them to a new note on my iPad and and perhaps then they will upload to iCloud drive. It's a work around and Apple needs to work on this. I am still trying to solve the underlying problem if anyone knows what is really going on. Thank you.
I do not use iCloud Drive, so I cannot comment on that. So are these notes in Pages, or are they in the Notes app on the phone? You mention two different things. I sync my notes with Outlook, so I'm not familiar with how the other processes work.
So sorry everyone; my last post was confusing! I am new at this. I am trying to deal with two issues. Neither notes nor pages is syncing right with iCloud drive. I am having the same problems now on the iPhone with Pages that I was having with notes, so I reloaded Pages it and it helped with most the Pages docs. (Sorry this thread is the wrong place to mention that.) Originally, I found "Notes" difficult for organizing my notes, so I copied the important ones into pages. Now Pages doesn't sync either and that's what I was addressing in my last post by mistake.
Back to discussing notes; maybe this will help someone. From Notes on the iPhone, I go to accounts in the top left corner. In Accounts I choose "On My iPhone" and copy the note in my iPhone that I want to get into iCloud. Then I go back to Accounts and then choose "iCloud". In iCloud I paste the copied note from the iPhone account into a new note in the iCloud account. It seems to then save to the cloud. It is essentially just adding a new note to the cloud, but I don't have to retype it. I would imagine there is an easier way than this work-around, though. Chris, thanks again.
For Notes, you can turn on sync for notes in iCloud in the Settings for iCloud. Your issue with Pages is something you will have to discuss in that section. I do not use Pages on the iPhone.
I went into each NOTE on my iPhone. If you touch the note and hold it on, you can get SELECT ALL. and hen COPY in a bar.
I only had a few notes and only one of any size. This is the kind of work that is perfect for rides on the metro.
i had this issue too.
What was happening to me was that i had several imap email accounts and without realising i had somehow managed to save notes to different accounts. Then i bought a macbook expecting everything to just be there! But i could only see some of my notes.
Looking slightly deeper i realised that i could only see notes that were in my iCloud account.
Just add the accounts from the Notes menu and Presto all your notes from that account will immediately appear.
Once the notes are visible in the Macbook Notes app then you can select multiple entries and move them into your iCloud notes which then makes them available throughout all your iOS devices.
Hope that helps.
