Canon PIXMA MG 6100 Scanner advice?

canon PIXMA MG 6100 printer connected through Airport, . scan gear won't work. After downloading new drivers, still cannot get scanner/<MG Navigator to work. What next to try?

Try using Image Capture (it's in Applications) instead of whatever Canon scanning app you are trying to use.
If that doesn't work then there is VueScan VueScan Scanner Software for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux

You will need to add the networked MG61xx to the MP Navigator preferences. So with MP Navigator open, click the Preferences button and then open the Product Name menu and select "MG61xx series network". Below is an example for a different model of Canon.

If the networked MG61xx does not appear in this list, you will need to open the "Canon IJ Network Scanner Selector EX" application, located in /Applications/Canon Utilities/IJ Network Scanner Selector EX, and select the networked MG61xx from the list of available devices, as shown below.
