I have a Samsung blu-ray player (BD-F6500) and i'm wanting to connect it to my macbook pro via wi-fi direct? Its apparently via a peer to peer network without a wireless router? i cannot seem to figure it out! any help would be greatly appreciated. 🙂

The real answer is to have the protocol added to the apple stack. an adhoc or peer to peer is not wifidirect but is a good theory that doesn't work if both devices don't share the protocol. Try creating a hotspot of your android phone and send a share image thru wifidirect. The stack is different that's why is within wifi settings but named WIFIDIRECT as a replacement of slower protocols like bluetooth.
