Q: An old iMac which has which stopped working after a storm.

We have an old iMac which has stopped working after a storm,  Is it possible to resurrect it. We have tried pulling out all the plugs then reconnecting it and pushing the power button at the same time. But it still wont start up.

Sounds like a blown PSU (power supply unit) or some other hardware failure. Depending on how old it is your nearest Apple Store/Genius Bar or Apple Authorised Repair Centre may still be able to order the part and replace it for you. Obviously there will be a charge (diagnosis is free) and you'll have to decide whether the repair costs are worthwhile based on how 'valuable' the iMac is to you? The only way you're going to find out is to make an appointment asap and take it from there.
