I have IPOD 1, need to install software IOS 6.0, what should I do

iPad or iPod?

If it's an iPad then you cannot install iOS6, the iPad first generation maxes out at iOS 5.1.1

If it's an iPod you 'd have to ask in that forum but I believe its max out iOS is even lower since those devices have been around for a while.

Ipods do not run ios.

the Ipod touch does.
