how do I link to a website?
I tried highlighting the text and doing what it suggest, then hitting enter to save it but when I convert to PDF it is no longer a link.

I sounds like you're using Pages v5.x which does not maintain hyperlinks properly (at least after the first page of the document). The solution seems to be to revert back to Pages '09. If you had that version prior to installing 5.x then is should still be in your /Applications/iWork folder.
