Q: Why can't I change to the US apps store?

I rented a movie 3 days ago from the French ITunes Store. I deleted it before it expired. Yesterday, 48 hours after I rented it, I tried to change to the US app store but they are telling me I can't because I have rentals that have not expired, even know it's been more than 2 days since my last rentals. Why is it not working?
