Updating apps on a vintage iPad

I have an "original" iPad that doesn't use the newest operating system. Yet every time the iPad syncs, iTunes pushes the new version of one of my important apps (iAnnotate) to my vintage iPad. The icon appears but doesn't work. Then I have to go into the app store to actively re-download the app to correct this.

How can I keep a favorite app from updating until I am ready to get a new iPad?

thank you.

Hey there, I work for Branchfire, the developers of iAnnotate. Are you still having this problem? There was an issue with the release of v3.0.2 that resulted in 1st-generation iPad users getting an update notification despite the update being available for iOS 6+ users only. The issue was resolved shortly thereafter but if you are still encountering problems, please email our support team.

Thanks!
