It may be true but if are blocked the other party will never see it.
There is no way for you to tell if you've been blocked based on the behavior of your phone. When you call, you'll hear ringing. You'll be able to leave a voicemail. Your texts and iMessages will all look exactly the same as if you weren't blocked.
Thanks Meg.
So if blocked I would hear ringing but the recepient would not? However, the voice mail I leave you appear in their visual voice mail?
What about text messages? If I am blocked does my message show anywhere on the persons phone? Or iPad? Is their a "spam" style mailbox for blocked in comming messages? Or does the blocked iMessage or text simply not exist?
I did an experiment yesterday with a friend that I asked to block me. I set up iMessage to my phone number plus 3 additional e mail addresses. When she blocked my phone number, my message to her still showed on her iPhone delivered from my e mail.
Any VM messages you leave to a blocke person will be placed in that person's deleted VM folder.
Text and iMessages are never delivered. They person will never see them, never know you sent them.
Blocking a contact on the phone has nothing to do with email. Any email blocking would need to be done through the email provider.
OK, this is helpful.
So, if I send a iMessage or text message to someone and it says "delivered" it really tells me nothing?
IE--if unblocked the person saw the message and if block they did not.
Since I do not know if I have been bloced or not it seems to me there is no way for me to tell the delivery status.
Thanks for your time and I appreciate the feedback.

It doesn't tell you if you've been blocked or not. Technically, it is accurate. The message has still been delivered either way. It's just that if it has been blocked, it is never displayed.
Thanks Meg!
Glad it helped!
No when you see "Delivered" they have not blocked you if you do not see "Delivered" that means the person your texting has blocked you
Aliyah, is this still accurate? If I am blocked, it won't say delivered? If it says delivered, then the receiver has not blocked you? Is this true for all IOS versions?
