Feb 20, 2014 3:10 PM in response to WRJ5by ChrisJ4203,★HelpfulThe movement of contacts from the phone to the vehicle is handled by the vehicle. There is no setting on the iPhone to move the contacts. Check the user guide for the hands free system in your vehicle. Mine does it automatically, but there is a setting in the car's system that is set by default to move them.
EDIT: I'm sorry, you can also check the phone. Go to Settings>Bluetooth and find your vehicle. Tap on the small on the right side and that should bring up another settings page, mine does. There you can check "Sync Contacts". It should then sync when you connect the phone to the vehicle, unless the vehicle also has a setting.

Feb 20, 2014 3:09 PM in response to WRJ5by sberman,★HelpfulMy iPhone (5S) transmits my contacts to the car's hands free without issue. This has happened automatically since I got the iPhone.
Perhaps your car needs some phone book access profile (PBAP) firmware update in its Bluetooth.
There are no explicit instructions on how to transmit contacts from the iPhone to a car on the Apple side. Perhaps your car offers some instructional help.

Maybe my Lexus GS needs an update!! All these problems appear to be Toyota / Lexus based which worries me.

Feb 20, 2014 3:20 PM in response to WRJ5by sberman,I have a Lexus also and it works just fine. Perhaps if your GS is older ...
But ChrisJ4203's edit suggestion sounds great. Try that first.
