Safari will not access new domain names

I am unable to access the a website using the new domains, for example: www.abc.PHOTOGRAPHY

Does anone else have this same issue or know if it is being addressed by Apple?

I also have the same issue, but not with that specific TLD.

When i try and access apps.lighting safari sends me to a google search, However on firefox it will open the correct website.

I've also tried www.apps.lighting and it did the same thing. The only way i've been able to access it from safari is to add the http:// before the start of the domain.

Will Apple be addressing this soon? Also when they do will that only effect people using the latest version of safari as i suspect a lot of people won't upgrade for some time or maybe their using old hardware that can't upgrade any further.

It appears as if Safari does not recognize the new TDLs and, as a result, is sending the URL to the default search engine instead of attempting to go to the website.

I can reach my new sites if I precede the URL with http:// (which is like a return trip to the 1980s) or if I spend a day and a half scrolling down the list presented by the URL box and choose "Go to Site" instead of having the search engine take over.

This has got to be a simple fix but I won't hold my breath.

Since reporting this issue to Apple back in Febuary we have had two IOS updates and they have still not fixed it. Microsoft have, google chrome has, Firefox has. Come on apple this is a poor show. For people who not only have invested a lot of money in your hardware but for business men and women who have purchased domains that your customers can't reach is been unacceptibally overdue a fix.

A apple support person advised me to install chrome on my iPad and said there you go problem solved. Don't think they got the point!! Apple are limiting my customer base therefore affecting sales. Personally I don't care if I can't reach my own site but am bothered that 50% + of mobile users can't.

Personally I'm getting fed up being fobbed off.
