Play a 3D Bluray

Hi all:

I am trying to figure out a play a 3D Bluray using a Mac. Firstly, mac is a 2013 13" Retina MBP and has the following specs.

Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5

Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics Intel Iris 1024 MB

And I am running Mac OS X 10.9.1 (Mavericks).

I have an external Bluray drive. The following one to be precise

LG Super Multi Blue Slim Portable with 3D Blu-ray Disc Playback

Now, I have searched high and low but I am unable to find a favorable way to play 3D Blurays. I have the latest Star Trek Into Darkness disc sitting right here in front of me but I am unable to play it.

I have a compatible 3D TV. It's the one below

Sony55" Class (54.6" diag) W900A Internet TV

I can connect the MBP to the TV using HDMI.

Any ideas/suggestions.
