Why can’t I find my Library?

I was always able to go into Finder and Search for My Library. The only thing I changed recently is in System Preferences under "Other Accounts" (which was only1 other my son) I disabled it because I was told this is better for security or something like that. This was his old computer & he wanted me to leave him on. However I remember I used to always see Users/Library or something similar. I understand why Users would go away since I am the only Active User but why would Library disappear? If anyone can help answer this, I'd greatly appreciate it. 😕 Happy Friday to all.

P.S. I am on a Network via Airport Extreme if that's any help.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8), using AirportXtreme & WiFi

To access the Library folder through Finder, open a finder window, select Go from top menu and hold down option (alt) key. Library will now appear in the drop-down list under Go.
