No matter how much more information I clear, I am stuck with ~25 GB of memory. I cleared enough memory to have the 83GB displayed on my finder but apparently it is not so. I have a Mid 2012 Retina MBP.

You can also "get info" to get the same
Grant
You may notice a difference in available space statistics between Disk Utility, Finder, and Get Info inspectors. This is expected and can be safely ignored. The Finder displays the available space on the disk without accounting for the local snapshots, because local snapshots will surrender their disk space if needed.
Yes, it was time machine. I turned it off and space started to return to my hard drive. I then just restarted my computer, cmd-r, verify/repair disk. The numbers currently match so i'm all good for now! Thanks so much for the replies!
