15" AMD Radeon HD 6490M early 2011 - Problem

User uploaded fileUser uploaded fileUser uploaded fileUser uploaded file

A week ago when I opened a heavy program on my computer crashed and the screen appeared black horizontal stripes. I had to restart it again and it crashed on the blue startup screen. On the third attempt he called again but to run something that requires more computer processing it crashed with the image of the entire screen distorted. Several cases occurred later and took up the apple authorized service here in Brazil. They gave me a quote somewhat exorbitant, about $ 930. So I search further and saw that several people are having this same problem, and in some cases changed the logic board, but the problem reappeared.

I am very worried and not knowing what to do, because spending $ 930 to solve a problem that can reappear does not seem fair.

Does anyone know if Apple is considering a recall for customers with this problem?

Hi

Apple is aware of this problem with the mac book pro produced in mid 2010, they issued a bulletin which of course is not widely diffused or noticed. When you google macbook pro 2010 graphics issue, you will find a lot of interesting issues. Obviously it was a manufactured issue with the graphics card, this issue became more frequent with my laptop, a 15 " macbook pro built around that time. You can have informations pertaining to your graphic card by going to the system information under "applications". Anyway it's too late to make them repaired under warranty, (rotten Apple.) Every move, technical bulletin from those companies are supervised by their lawyers...next purchase pay attention to cnet news regarding your purchased product, but you have to connect the dots.
