Joystick Compatibility w MacBook Pro?!

I have a 6 years old USB Joystick (LOGITECH FORCE 3D) which I was using on a Windows PC.

Can I use it on my MacBook Pro running Mavericks?

What is the best way to test it before I purchase an expensive simulation software?
