Cannot reset keychain password. I get "The specified keychain could not be found.

Hi Donald, first do this...

If 10.7.0 or later...

Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.

Any change on reboot?

Talked with Apple Support. Moved file from keychain to trash and it cleared trouble. Thanks for your help.

Thank for the report, was it this file?

/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.keychainaccess.plist
