how to back up large iPhoto library
i have 87 GB of photos (21,000) actual pictures. Can i back these up onto a flashdrve of DVD? I have an external hard drive but would like an additional back up.

Not to DVD and not to a flash drive unless you have a Flash Drive formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) that is larger than 87GB
I'd suggest a second EHD - I run Time Macnine giving me hourly backups and do a daily clone using Carbon Copy Cloner giving me a daily bootable backup or everything - plus do an occasional off site backup and leave my photos on the SD card for at least a year in case of problems
