How to create custom fill color in Pages?

Let us guess, you are not on Mac OSX (10.4.11) and are using Pages 5?
Click on the little rainbow colored disk next to the fill swatch, that takes you to the Color Picker.

Thanks for trying to help me! I have OS X 10.9.1. Pages Version 5.1 (1769). I do not see what you are describing for fill. Here's is what I see:
Here is what I see if I click on the fill color (the green box):
No amount of click on anything brings up the color disk (wheel?). That is accessed another way. It seems to have no relationship to fill. I've used it to create custom color for text and images. Help!

That lil ol' triangle seems to defeat nearly all the users looking for formatting. They have to poke under every one to find things. Like an Easter Egg hunt.
I wonder if the programmers might reconsider this effort at minimising the UI. Hardly contextual when in the context you can't see it.
Particularly when they have acres of screen to play with in the format pane.
