Feb 22, 2014 6:16 AM in response to Niicole96by tbirdvet,Is this the new iMovie10 for Mavericks or the previous version 9? If it is 10 then try 9 (should be in your iMovie folder that Mavericks created after the upgrade) and see what happens.

As a last resort, force a shutdown by holding down the power button for a few seconds. Then press it again briefly to start up.
