what is unknown (sync) error -50?

I just started getting an error trying to sync my iphone (4) to itunes (v11.1.4 on Mtn Lion).

It now says unknown error -50 even though it sync-ed ok just 4 hours ago.

I see other people asking about -51 (which I cant find via google either).

What is it? How do I make it go away?
