Q: my iphone wasnt erased on find my iphone

i am having trouble erasing my iphone so i thought, "hey, logically the SECURE find my iphone erase feature will do the trick!"

it didnt.

it gets a varying amount along the progress bar and then reverts to the spinning wheel, which is what has been happenning, and why i tried the find my iphone erase.

Apple should confirm the security of their remote erase!

if it had have been stolen and i didnt want anyone getting my personal details, i would have gone straight to the remote erase, thinking that, again logically, apple would be true to its word, and end up with all my details in the hands of a stranger, on top of the loss of my iphone.

any ideas on how i can erase my iphone without waiting 8 hours+ for ios to download on my mac to restore?
