It's just a video in Flash format - if you have Flash Player installed, you can just drag the file to any browser icon on your Dock (I'm assuming that you mean 10.6.8? Snow Leopard?).

Actually it's os 10.8.5 mountain lion -- it's new so I'm not used to typing it. Can't load adobe flash player.
Try getting Flash Player from Adobe -> http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/.
Install it and then you can view in any browser. There are converters out there but I don't know of any good free ones.

Why can't you load Flash Player?
The os is 10.8.5 mountain lion. It's new so I mistyped it. Apparently it won't load on this os and above. Any thoughts about a work around?
Did you visit http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/? It will install the very latest version of Flash Player - compatible with 10.8.5 -> 10.9.1.

It does not install. Research yesterday told me Flash player no longer available forthis version os and above.
What happens when you go to the website? There was a new version of Flash Player that came out a couple of days ago (the 20th, I think) and you should be able to get it from the Adobe website cited above.

I dowloaded it (probably 5 different times now)> the only tingi get is the Adobe Fash installer, not the Flash player.
Oh, OK...
...go to your Downloads folder. There will be (a lot by now!) files with a .dmg extension. Double click that file and it will open like a hard drive icon on your Desktop or in your Sidebar. Therein will be an "Install Flash Player.pkg" file (or something like that). Dounle-click the installer and Flash Player will install. It may take a few minutes. After it installs (it may tell you to close your browser(s) that are open before it will install - I don't recall) you may need to quit and restart your browser.
Give it a shot - call back if no joy.
