I am running Windows 8. Ihad iTunes installed and was using it, when I installed the lastest update I keep getting this message
iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall itunes. Error 7 (Windows error 127)
I have reinstalled twice now and get the same message, All the desktop and start bar shortcuts show up, but none work. Also if I go to the itunes file and pick the .exe the same message appears.
Any advice?
I found the answer on another thread. Thank Heaven for the brains who figure this kind of thing out and then are gracious to share!

I have had the same problem. On another thread it was suggested that I uninstall in a particular sequence, then delete certain folders, the restart the computer, then re-install
Which I have now done 3 times.... GGGGGRRRRRRR still same error

As in the other thread that you posted to, you may find you have more luck if you uninstall everything and then reinstall the components one at at time as outlined in the Install missing components section of the user tip. Or you try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility to help with the reinstallation.

After the 5th time of doing the uninstall and reinstall, VOILA! It works again - YAY!

By deleting all Itunes and components, doesn't your library go away also?
No, the aim is to uninstall the software and then reinstall it. The library and media files are stored in a different location and will be untouched unless you do something wrong. See the Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for details, backup advice, etc.
