Transfer a iMovie DVD to a flash drive

I have a DVD that I need occasionally and would like to put it on a Flash Drive.
The reality is that CD/DVD players are becoming a thing of the past and I need to ajjust to systems that do not play them.

Can I simply drag all the files onto the Flashdrive or do I need to put it in iTunes or other program
